Job summary

Buckinghamshire Council is seeking a Waste Commissioning Lead Officer - Infrastructure in Aylesbury. You will drive major waste infrastructure projects from concept through commissioning and handover, coordinating waste operations, engineering, procurement, finance, planning and legal teams to deliver real-world assets.

The role requires delivering complex projects, managing risks, and ensuring health, safety and environmental compliance.

Qualifications

• Genuine experience delivering complex projects, ideally in infrastructure or construction.
• Ability to coordinate multisector teams across waste, engineering, procurement, finance and planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of major waste infrastructure projects from concept to commissioning and handover.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient delivery and long-term value.
• Oversee business case, design, procurement, construction and handover stages.
• Work flexibly with an 'any-desk' setup, including some office presence two days a week.
