Job summary

Birmingham City Council is seeking an Investigations Team Leader (Waste Enforcement) to manage a team of Waste Enforcement Officers and develop the service to tackle environmental crime such as fly-tipping.

The role requires strong leadership, in-depth knowledge of enforcement legislation, and the ability to coordinate with members and partners. 36.5 hours per week with a permanent contract and Grade D pay.

Qualifications

• Must have a track record in leading and managing teams.
• Thorough understanding of environmental enforcement legislation and procedures.
• Ability to make informed decisions in challenging situations.
• Strong communication and organisational skills are essential.
• Ability to liaise with elected members, stakeholders and partners.
• Ability to prioritise multiple demands to meet deadlines.
• Must hold a valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Ensure effective enforcement against environmental crime such as fly-tipping.
