Job summary

Birmingham City Council is seeking an Investigations Team Leader (Waste Enforcement) to lead a team of Waste Enforcement Officers within the Environmental Health service in Birmingham. You will guide development, ensure robust enforcement against environmental crime, and report to senior colleagues on progress.

The role requires a strong track record in leadership, knowledge of environmental enforcement, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Strong track record in leading and managing teams.
• Thorough understanding of environmental enforcement legislation and procedures.
• Confidence in making informed decisions and handling complex or challenging situations.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to liaise with elected members, stakeholders and partners.
• Hold a valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Manage a group of Waste Enforcement Officers and drive continuous development of the service, ensuring effective enforcement against environmental crime such as fly-tipping.
