Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking a Refuse Driver to operate HGV refuse collection vehicles safely and efficiently across North Yorkshire, delivering timely waste services and high levels of customer service to local residents.

You will perform daily safety checks, maintain vehicle roadworthiness, and work as part of a team to meet schedules while adhering to Health & Safety policies and reporting incidents.

Qualifications

• Experience driving HGV vehicles.
• Experience in Waste Management or Local Authority operations.
• Ability to perform vehicle safety inspections and defect reporting.
• Strong Health & Safety awareness.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive HGV refuse collection vehicles on designated routes.
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and safety checks.
• Maintain vehicle roadworthiness and comply with regulations.
• Support refuse and recycling collection operations.
• Work with crews to deliver efficient waste services.
• Complete defect reports and maintenance documentation.
