Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited are currently sourcing a Refuse Driver for a 1 month contract with a Local Authority in North Yorkshire. You will operate HGV refuse collection vehicles, perform safety checks, and ensure on-time collections while delivering courteous service to residents.

The role requires experience driving HGVs, familiarity with Waste Management or Local Authority operations, and a strong commitment to Health & Safety.

Qualifications

• Experience driving HGV vehicles in a professional setting.
• Experience in Waste Management or Local Authority operations.
• Ability to perform vehicle safety inspections and defect reporting.
• Strong adherence to Health & Safety requirements.

• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Drive refuse collection vehicles on designated routes.
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and safety checks.
• Ensure vehicles are roadworthy and compliant with regulations.
• Support refuse and recycling collection operations.
• Work with collection crews to deliver efficient waste services.
• Complete defect reports and maintenance documentation.
• Adhere to Health & Safety policies and safe working practices.
• Maintain excellent customer service when interacting with the public.
• Ensure routes are completed on schedule.
