Job summary

Tesco Retail is recruiting Customer Delivery Drivers to bring groceries to customers’ homes across the United Kingdom. This role goes beyond driving, delivering friendly, reliable service with a smile, and ensuring every order arrives in perfect condition.

You’ll drive independently most of the day, with support from managers and a team back at base. Roles include 16+ hours weekly with some 12-hour options, and you must hold a valid UK driving licence with up to 3 penalty points.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) for at least 12 months, with no more than 3 penalty points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver orders within the customer’s time slot, providing warm, natural service at the doorstep and leaving customers feeling valued and well looked after.
• Load the van safely and complete checks to ensure it’s roadworthy.
• Keep your van, trays, and work area clean, tidy, and organised so every customer receives their shopping in perfect condition.
• Talk customers through any order changes, substitutions, or short-dated items in a friendly, reassuring way, and offer refunds where needed to keep the experience smooth and positive.
• Handle products with care, treating every order as if it were your own to maintain quality and customer trust.
• Build strong relationships with colleagues to create great team spirit and deliver the best service for customers.
• Be warm and welcoming with customers and colleagues.
• Respond quickly to changing customer needs and embrace change while out on the road and in the store.
