Job summary

Macphie is seeking a Warehouse Technical Operative to join our team. This hands-on role supports stock control, cycle counting, ERP-driven planning, and coaching new colleagues in a busy food manufacturing warehouse.

You will deputise for the Shift Manager when needed and collaborate with Operations, Planning, Engineering and Quality. Two-week rotating shifts and a focus on safety and audit readiness are key.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse experience in production, manufacturing or distribution.
• Counterbalance forklift experience required; refresher training provided.
• FMCG/food manufacturing experience advantageous.
• Strong stock control, rotation, traceability and cycle counting.
• Proficient with computerised warehouse or ERP systems; IFS advantageous.
• Good knowledge of Health & Safety standards and safe practices.
• Strong attention to detail; accurate documentation and records.
• Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure.
• Good communication and ability to train colleagues.
• Proactive, results-focused with continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Manage stock with rotation, traceability and accuracy.
• Carry out cycle counts and investigate discrepancies.
• Use ERP to support stock control and planning.
• Maintain intake, outload and operational documentation.
• Support induction and training of new team members.
• Deputise for the Shift Manager when required.
• Collaborate with Operations, Planning and Quality teams.
• Help achieve KPIs and maintain audit-ready warehouses.
