Warehouse Team Leader | National Theatre London
£30,882 per annum

NT Food & Drink is a unique and dynamic partnership driven by Levy and KERB, embedded within the National Theatre on the South Bank. Our ambition to create a world-class hospitality destination at the heart of the world's most iconic theatre is powered by our progressive people-first approach, centred on environmental and social sustainability. We celebrate inclusivity with purpose, putting the development and progression of our future leaders centre stage. Our shared goal is to ensure all food and drink spaces support the NT's overall values, vision, and culture.

Purpose

Are you a natural leader with a passion for keeping operations running smoothly? As a Warehouse Team Leader, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our warehouse runs efficiently, accurately, and safely. Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, you’ll lead a team of warehouse operatives to ensure goods are received, stored, picked, and dispatched with precision—all while maintaining the highest food safety standards. You’ll drive productivity, foster a positive and safe working environment, and support Warehouse Management in achieving key operational targets.

If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy leading a team to success, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with NT Food & Drink departments to ensure stock and equipment needs are met.
  • Manage and deliver food, beverage, and supply orders while maintaining clear communication.
  • Prepare venue stock for peak periods, ensuring teams are informed and ready.
  • Oversee supplier relationships and ensure accurate order processing.
  • Maintain high standards in stockroom organization, rotation, and compliance with food safety and H&S regulations.
  • Support staff training, stock audits, and monthly stock takes.
  • Assist with event stock and equipment needs, ensuring smooth setup and breakdown.
  • Uphold NT Food & Drink policies, health & safety standards, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Proven Experience – You’ve worked in a similar role before and are ready to hit the ground running.
  • Great Communicator & Team Leader – You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for building and leading a strong, skilled operational team.
  • Adaptable & Flexible – You’re open to adjusting working patterns (within reason) as agreed with your manager, ensuring we meet business needs.
  • Self-Motivated & Organized – You can confidently manage your own workload while supervising and supporting your team effectively.
  • Health & Safety Awareness – You understand H&S regulations, Food Safety, and COSHH, ensuring a safe and compliant workplace.
  • Food Hygiene Certified – A Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification is required.
  • Tech-Savvy (Bonus!) – Experience with EPOS, Goodtill, and Food Buy is a plus but not essential.
  • Availability – This role may require evening, weekend, and bank holiday shifts.

What You’ll Get In Return

  • £30,882 per annum
  • Healthcare & Wellbeing – Medicash health benefits (including dental, mental health & optical for you and up to 4 children), free annual health check with Aviva Digicare, discounts at Nuffield Health & Pure Gym, and access to our Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Exclusive Perks & Discounts – Save on entertainment (up to 55% off cinema tickets), shopping (up to 15% off), Vodafone plans, and travel with top providers such as TUI & Expedia.
  • Workplace Benefits – Meals on duty, pension scheme, life assurance, and professional subscriptions paid.
  • Leave & Family Support – 23 days + bank holidays, your birthday off, extra leave after maternity return, a day off for your baby’s 1st birthday, and a holiday purchase scheme.
  • Career & Financial Support – Ongoing training & development, career pathways, financial wellbeing programme, and preferred rates on salary finance products.

Site Specific Benefits

  • Exclusive National Theatre discounts (15% off outlets, 25% off Bookshop, complimentary show tickets)
  • Food & drink discounts (Kerb Card: 20% off drinks, 50% off food at Seven Dials Market)
  • VIP last-minute O2 show tickets (subject to availability)
