Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Northampton is seeking an experienced First Line Manager to oversee our temperature-controlled warehouse with three chambers. You will lead a team and ensure safe, efficient operations in a challenging but rewarding role.

You will monitor performance, supervise 16 direct reports (up to 20 operatives), use in-house tracking software, and drive process improvements to boost productivity on a 4 on/4 off 06:00–18:00 schedule.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Supervisor or Team Leader in a warehouse or logistics environment, particularly in temperature-controlled settings.
• Strong understanding of supply chain practices and warehouse procedures.
• Experience in preparing and distributing high-volume orders.
• Proficient in logistics software and computer systems; able to analyze data and generate reports.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills; experience training and developing team members.

Responsibilities

• Performance Monitoring: report on and monitor the effectiveness of warehousing activities and performance metrics.
• Team Leadership: supervise 16 direct reports, coordinating productivity and meeting deadlines safely.
• Order Tracking: use in-house tracking software to monitor orders and maintain accurate records.
• Process Improvement: identify opportunities and implement best practices to improve warehouse performance.
