Scientific Laboratory Supplies Ltd (SLS) is looking for a Warehouse Team Leader in Nottingham to drive efficient warehouse operations and ensure accurate order fulfillment. You will lead a shift-based team, optimise processes, manage transport liaison, and work with 3PLs to cut costs while maintaining service levels.

You will coach staff, analyse data, and implement improvements across systems and workflows. A UK driving licence and willingness to travel between UK sites are required.

Warehouse Team Leader

Location: Fairham Business Park, Nottingham.

Permanent. Rotating shifts, Monday to Friday.

SLS have an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Team Leader to join our innovative & fast-paced business based in Nottingham. In this key role you will be responsible for ensuring seamless operations between our warehouse and external logistics partners, helping to streamline processes, maintain inventory accuracy, and optimize distribution efficiency. The shift pattern for this role is rotating Mon-Friday 6am – 2pm and 2pm-10pm.

About the job:

You will be responsible for ensuring that your team are successfully running an efficient warehouse operation to fulfil operational and customer demands and meet set targets. You will seek to constantly improve the operational effectiveness by optimising the warehouse management systems and automation to achieve the highest productivity and accuracy rates. This will be achieved by defining and executing the most effective operational team structure. By developing all team members plus identifying key individuals for mentorship you will ensure effective succession plans are in place to motivate and maximise performance.

It is essential to ensure seamless integration with the transport operation, improving service and reducing costs, damages and CO2 within the SLS van and carriers. You will negotiate and manage relationships with all carriers and warehouse equipment suppliers and where possible resolve any issues or problems which occur in the warehouse and use your discretion to elevate the issue to a more senior level when appropriate. Acting as a liaison between the warehouse, 3PL providers, and internal teams, you ensure customer orders are processed accurately and shipped on time, working closely with customer service teams to address any order-related issues promptly.

You lead by example, work flexibly and are prepared to put in additional hours, as required to meet deadlines. It is essential to have a willingness to learn, challenge yourself, have a strong sense of initiative and have the desire to grow as an individual as well as part of the business.

IT literate and able to extract, analyse and examine data to provide concise reports and provide advice to the whole SLS senior management team.

The successful applicant must hold a valid UK driving licence and be prepared to travel to all our sites regularly throughout the UK and Ireland.
