Job summary

Alexander Steele Ltd. seeks a Nightshift Despatch Supervisor to lead a small team on the night shift, ensuring accurate picking, packing and on-time preparation for delivery in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

You will drive performance, maintain service levels and uphold high standards of food safety, quality and health & safety compliance while coordinating with production and transport teams.

Qualifications

• Experience managing or supervising teams in fast-paced despatch/logistics operations.
• Strong organisational, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of health & safety, food safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the nightshift despatch operation to meet customer service and delivery targets.
• Ensure orders are accurately picked, packed, checked and prepared for dispatch.
• Manage shift priorities and resolve day-to-day operational issues to maintain service levels.
• Maintain compliance with food safety, quality, hygiene and health & safety standards.
• Liaise closely with production and transport teams to ensure efficient workflow and product availability.
• Monitor team performance, support training activities and promote a positive team culture.
• Complete shift handovers and maintain accurate operational records and documentation.

Nightshift Despatch Supervisor

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 DOE

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday

Shift Pattern: Monday - Thursday: 8:00pm - 4:30am, Friday: 6:00pm - 2:30am shift on Fridays

About the Role

Alexander Steele are delighted to be supporting a successful FMCG business in the search for a Nightshift Despatch Supervisor. This is a hands-on supervisory role responsible for the smooth running of nightshift despatch operations, ensuring customer orders are accurately picked, packed and prepared for on-time delivery.
