Job Description

Muller Yogurts & Desserts in Telford are recruiting a Shift Leader to oversee and coach a team within the Warehouse department. The role aims to support Muller UK in achieving its strategic vision through innovation and continuous improvement by developing and managing systems, processes, and resources within a production unit to meet and exceed targets for volume, costs, quality, environmental impact, and health & safety.

The ideal candidate will have experience leading and coaching teams, with a strong background in warehousing and manufacturing.

Contract: Permanent / Full-time (42 hours)

Working Pattern: 4 days on, 4 days off, rotating days and nights

Location: Telford

Key Responsibilities
  1. Prompt recognition and correction of faults.
  2. Sharing technical knowledge to enhance team capabilities.
  3. Cross-functional collaboration with all departments.
  4. Driving continuous improvement initiatives to completion.
  5. Using root cause analysis to identify corrective actions.
  6. Supporting and evaluating production-related training and development needs.
  7. Maintaining regular communication with the team through 1-1s, PDP discussions, and briefings.
  8. Promoting a lean culture and continuous improvement in daily operations.
  9. Mentoring, coaching, and developing team members in company behaviors.
  10. Ensuring work standards align with company policies and procedures.
  11. Supporting managers and team leaders in absence and performance management.
  12. Managing disciplinary procedures and poor performance through PIP.
Skills and Knowledge
  1. Experience in a high-volume food production environment.

  3. Understanding of processing and filling theory.
  4. Knowledge of processing plant and machinery.
