Job summary

Royal Van Leeuwen is seeking an experienced Operations Leader for our Tees Valley site. You will coach and develop teams, manage performance, and foster a culture of continuous improvement while coordinating warehouse functions and ensuring safe, efficient operations.

Responsibilities include supervising material movement, liaising with contractors, and delivering KPI improvements. The role requires IOSH, English and Maths qualifications with Six Sigma preferred.

Qualifications

• IOSH certification or equivalent safety training.
• O Level or equivalent in English.
• O Level or equivalent in Maths.
• Six Sigma /LEAN experience preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Coach, train and develop employees; identify skills gaps and onboarding support.
• Manage performance per HR procedures; appraisals, targets and disciplinary processes.
• Foster a positive workplace culture; drive engagement and continuous improvement.
• Plan and organise warehouse functions; manage manning and sawing activities.
• Supervise material movement; coordinate with third-party providers and internal teams.
• Ensure timely communication on delivery dates, quality and customer commitments.
• Maintain stock accuracy; support PI counts with stock controller.
• Drive safety culture; conduct investigations and follow up on root causes.
