Job summary

Howden Joinery Limited is seeking a warehouse operative to unload deliveries, check stock and ensure safe, efficient operations within a busy depot. The role requires attention to detail, a team‑oriented approach and a commitment to health and safety standards.

You will handle stock accurately, perform routine forklift checks and support deliveries and general warehouse tasks across the depot.

Qualifications

• Forklift licence desirable.
• Good understanding of stock control and health and safety.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail when handling stock and records.
• Good literacy, numeracy and time management.

Responsibilities

• Unload deliveries and check stock to health and safety standards.
• Carry out daily forklift checks and equipment readiness.
• Ensure stock is secure and prepared for dispatch.
• Conduct regular stock checks and maintain records.
• Keep the warehouse tidy and efficient through rotating stock.
• Support trade customers with professional service.
• Assist with deliveries, collections and general warehouse operations.
• Collaborate with depot team to keep operations running smoothly.
