Job summary

Howdens Joinery is seeking a proactive Warehouse Person to support stock control, dispatch readiness and depot operations at the Foots Cray depot. You will unload deliveries, perform equipment checks, and help maintain a clean, safe and efficient warehouse environment.

The role emphasizes accuracy, teamwork and a customer-focused approach, with sessions on health and safety and daily stock processing. A forklift licence is desirable and practical, hands-on work is essential.

Qualifications

• Forklift licence is desirable.
• Good understanding of stock control and health and safety.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail when handling stock and maintaining records.
• Good literacy, numeracy and time management skills.
• Customer-focused with a friendly and professional attitude.
• Clear communication and strong organisational and planning skills.
• Reliable, hands-on and takes pride in a safe, tidy warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Unload deliveries and check stock accurately in line with health and safety standards.
• Carry out daily checks on forklift trucks and equipment.
• Ensure stock is secure and prepared for dispatch.
• Complete regular stock checks and maintain accurate records.
• Keep the warehouse clean, organised and efficient through stock rotation.
• Support trade customers with a professional and helpful service.
• Assist with deliveries, collections and general warehouse operations.
• Work closely with the depot team to keep operations running smoothly.
