Job summary

Gi Group Holdings Recruitment Limited is recruiting Warehouse Operatives for the E‑Commerce team in Stoke-on-Trent. Initially you will pack customer orders, with a clear path to train onto LLOP MHE picking as the operation grows. Roles are temporary/ongoing with rotating shifts and site health and safety procedures emphasized.

Best suited to candidates with reliability, attention to detail and willingness to adapt to packing and later picking tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Job description

Warehouse Operative - E-Commerce Packing (with future LLOP Picking training)

Location: Pets at Home Distribution Centre, Stoke-on-Trent

Contract: Temporary/Ongoing (amend if perm)

Pay: £12.86 per hour

Overtime: £19.29 per hour (after 37.5 hours worked)

Shift patterns (rotational)

• Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday
• 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00 (rotating)

The role

We're recruiting Warehouse Operatives to join the E-Commerce team, initially focused on Packing customer orders. This is not "packing only" long-term-successful candidates will be expected to train onto LLOP (Low Level Order Picker) MHE Picking in the future, so you'll need to be open to moving into a picking-based role as the operation requires.

Key responsibilities (initially - Packing)

• Pack e-commerce orders accurately to quality and presentation standards
• Check items, quantities and order paperwork/labels before dispatch
• Use handheld scanners and basic warehouse systems (where required)
• Rework/repack items to ensure they meet dispatch requirementsMaintain a clean, safe and organised work area
• Follow all site health & safety processes at all times
• Support other warehouse tasks as required (including general duties)

Future development (LLOP Picking / MHE)

• Picking stock using an LLOP and scanner to meet productivity targets
• Working in fast-paced aisles with safe vehicle/pedestrian awareness
• Completing pre-use checks and following MHE safe working procedures
• (Full training provided on site.)

What we're looking for

• Comfortable in a fast-paced warehouse environment with performance targets
• High attention to detail and ability to follow process
• Willingness to be flexible: this role will develop into picking/LLOP as required
• Good reliability and timekeeping for rotating shifts
• Previous warehouse experience is helpful but not essential
