Job summary

PE Global is recruiting a Warehouse Operator/Storekeeper to join the Central Stores team in Portlethen, Aberdeen. This is a hands-on, floor-based role supporting daily warehouse operations with emphasis on safe handling and accurate inventory control.

The position is a 6-month contract with potential extension for the right candidate, working 37.5 hours per week from 8:00am–4:00pm at a rate of £15 per hour.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in warehouse, stores, logistics or materials environment.
• Good attention to detail when receiving and checking inventory.
• Reliable and organised approach to stock control and material handling.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Strong commitment to safety and housekeeping.
• Forklift experience is beneficial; training/certification can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Receive supplier deliveries and verify items against packing lists or orders.
• Inspect, label, store, pick, pack, issue and dispose of inventory.
• Perform inventory cycle counts and support periodic stock takes.
• Ensure outgoing materials are packed with complete documentation.
• Maintain organised storage locations to support stock control.
• Support kitting, Kanban replenishment and other materials activities.
• Investigate and assist with resolving inventory and warehouse issues.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards across warehouse and shipping areas.
• Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment after training and certification.
• Follow company policies, procedures and QHSE requirements.

PE Global is currently recruiting for a Warehouse Operator/ Storekeeper to join the Central Stores team of a leading global energy and technology organisation based in Portlethen, Aberdeen.

This is an initial 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension and a longer-term opportunity for the right candidate.

Position Details

• Location: Portlethen, Aberdeen
• Rate: £15 per hour
• Hours: 37.5 hours per week
• Working hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm

The Role

This is a hands-on, floor-based position supporting the day-to-day operation of a busy Central Stores environment. You will be responsible for the safe and accurate handling, movement and control of materials and inventory.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive supplier deliveries, checking that items are in suitable condition and accurately match the relevant packing list and/or purchase order.
• Inspect, label, receive, store, pick, pack, issue and dispose of inventory in line with established procedures.
• Complete inventory cycle counts and support periodic physical stock counts.
• Ensure outgoing materials are correctly packed and accompanied by complete and accurate documentation.
• Maintain organised and accurate storage locations to support efficient material handling and stock control.
• Support kitting, Kanban point-of-use replenishment and other materials management activities as required.
• Investigate and assist with resolving local inventory and warehouse issues.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping across warehouse and shipping/receiving areas.
• Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment following completion of the required training and certification.
• Follow company policies, procedures and QHSE requirements at all times.
• Support the wider Materials team with general stores and inventory activities as required.

Requirements:

• Previous experience within a warehouse, stores, logistics or materials environment.
• Good attention to detail, particularly when receiving and checking inventory.
• A reliable and organised approach to stock control and material handling.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A strong commitment to safety, housekeeping and following established procedures.
