Job summary

Search Consultancy is recruiting a Warehouse Operative/Stores Person in Crawley. You will support warehouse and production operations, ensuring stock is received, stored, and dispatched accurately, maintaining stock records and preparing finished goods for dispatch.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to work independently or in a team, and familiarity with stock control systems. Forklift experience is advantageous and training can be provided. 4 days on / 4 days off shifts.

Responsibilities

• Pack finished goods for dispatch.

• Maintain high standards of housekeeping.
• Take ownership of tasks and identify improvements.

Warehouse Operative / Stores Person

Location: Crawley

Salary: £32,133.76 per annum (including shift allowance)

Job Type: Full-time

Shift Pattern: 4 days on / 4 days off, 6:00am - 6:00pm (rotating days)

About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a reliable, motivated and organised Warehouse & Production Stores Operative to join their team in Crawley.

This is an important role supporting warehouse and production operations, ensuring materials and finished goods are received, stored, processed and dispatched accurately and efficiently.

You will be responsible for maintaining accurate stock records, preparing finished goods for dispatch and ensuring the production team has the materials required to keep operations running smoothly.

We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach, who can work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Packing finished goods ready for customer dispatch.
• Recording all stock movements accurately using the stock control system.
• Managing the timely and controlled dispatch of finished goods.
• Supplying materials and production consumables to the production team on time.
• Operating counterbalance and reach forklift trucks daily.
• Maintaining accurate stock rotation using FIFO (First In, First Out).
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping.
• Taking ownership of tasks and identifying opportunities for improvement.

What We Are Looking For

• Previous warehouse or stores experience.
• Counterbalance and/or reach forklift experience (advantageous).
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong computer literacy and IT skills.
• Experience of FIFO stock rotation.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• A proactive approach and good problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Good understanding of health and safety.

Forklift training can be provided for the right candidate.
