Job summary

Pertemps Crawley Perms in Crawley is seeking a Stores Operative to join our client’s growing team on a permanent basis. You will manage picking, packing, stock control and dispatch, ensuring accuracy and timely deliveries.

The role requires a full UK driving licence and a counterbalance forklift licence, with Monday to Friday hours 8am–5pm and on-site parking.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a warehouse, stores or goods-in environment.
• Experience with picking, packing, stock control and dispatch.
• A full, valid UK driving licence.
• A valid counterbalance forklift licence.
• Experience handling components, parts or working with product codes.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to work accurately.
• A proactive attitude, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Picking and packing components accurately to fulfil customer orders.
• Preparing goods for dispatch and arranging outgoing deliveries.
• Booking incoming stock and checking deliveries against paperwork.
• Monitoring stock levels and maintaining accurate inventory records.
• Identifying and reporting damaged goods or stock discrepancies.
• Keeping the warehouse and stores area tidy, organised and well maintained.
• Operating a counterbalance forklift when required.
• Occasionally delivering goods to local destinations using a company vehicle.
• Providing general support across the warehouse and stores function.

Our client, a well‑established and growing business based in Crawley, is looking for a reliable and proactive Stores Operative to join their team on a permanent basis.

DRIVING LICENSE & FORKLIFT LICENSE REQUIRED

This is a varied, hands‑on position where no two days need to be the same. You'll play an important role in keeping the stores and warehouse running smoothly, ensuring stock is managed accurately and customer orders are picked, prepared and dispatched efficiently.
