Job summary

Pertemps in Crawley is seeking a Stores Operative to join a busy warehouse team on a permanent basis. The role requires a valid UK driving licence and a counterbalance forklift licence, with duties including picking, packing, stock control and dispatch, plus occasional local deliveries.

Working Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, you will contribute to accurate stock management and smooth store operations, in a well-established business with on-site parking.

Responsibilities

• Picking and packing components to fulfil customer orders.
• Prepare goods for dispatch and arrange deliveries.

• Monitor stock levels and maintain inventory records.
• Identify damaged goods or stock discrepancies and report them.
• Keep warehouse stores area tidy and well maintained.
• Operate a counterbalance forklift when required.
• Occasionally deliver goods to local destinations using company vehicle.
• Provide general support across warehouse and stores functions.

Salary: £25,000–£28,000 per annum DOE

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm

Contract: Permanent

Our client, a well-established and growing business based in Crawley, is looking for a reliable and proactive Stores Operative to join their team on a permanent basis.

*DRIVING LICENSE & FORKLIFT LICENSE REQUIRED*

This is a varied, hands-on position where no two days need to be the same. You'll play an important role in keeping the stores and warehouse running smoothly, ensuring stock is managed accurately and customer orders are picked, prepared and dispatched efficiently.

What will you be doing?

• Picking and packing components accurately to fulfil customer orders.
• Preparing goods for dispatch and arranging outgoing deliveries.
• Booking incoming stock and checking deliveries against paperwork.
• Monitoring stock levels and maintaining accurate inventory records.
• Identifying and reporting damaged goods or stock discrepancies.
• Keeping the warehouse and stores area tidy, organised and well maintained.
• Operating a counterbalance forklift when required.
• Occasionally delivering goods to local destinations using a company vehicle.
• Providing general support across the warehouse and stores function.

• A full, valid UK driving licence.

• Good attention to detail and the ability to work accurately.
• A proactive attitude, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
