Job summary

Meridian Business Support Ltd is recruiting a Warehouse operative / Parcel sorter for a site in Woolston, Warrington. You will remove parcels from incoming vehicles or conveyors, read barcodes with handheld scanners to ensure correct labels, and sort parcels by destination or route.

You will place sorted parcels into the correct cages or pallets and load them onto trucks for transport, while maintaining a clean work area and supporting other warehouse tasks as directed.

Qualifications

• Crucial for accuracy in sorting mail by destination.
• Ability to manage tasks and maintain a system.
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 kg, and push trolleys.

Responsibilities

• Remove parcels from vehicles or conveyors.
• Read barcodes with handheld scanners and verify labels.
• Sort parcels by destination/postcode or route.
• Place sorted parcels into cages, pallets, or loading bags.
• Load sorted parcels onto trucks/containers for transport.
• Keep workspace clean and assist with other warehouse tasks.

Meridian business support is recruiting for a Warehouse operative / Parcel sorter for a Company based in Woolston, Warrington area.

Warehouse operative / Parcel sorter Duties include:

• Removing parcels from incoming vehicles or conveyor belts.
• Using handheld scanners to read barcodes and ensuring each parcel has the correct label
• Separating parcels based on destination, postcode, or delivery route
• Placing sorted parcels into the correct cages, pallets, or loading bags
• Loading the sorted parcels onto trucks or containers for transport.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy, and obstruction-free work area (internal and external) and assisting with other general warehouse tasks as directed by the management.

• Crucial for accuracy in sorting mail by destination
• Ability to manage tasks and maintain a system
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items (up to 25kg or more, depending on the role), and push trolleys
• Ability to work well with other sorters and staff
• Willingness to adjust to changing mail volumes and methods

Hours & Shifts:

Monday - Friday or Sunday - Thursday

10AM - 7PM - Morning shift

or

2PM - 11PM - Afternoon shift

or

11PM - 8AM - Night shift

Pay Rate:

£13.33 per hourAfter 12 weeks £13.66 per hour
