Job summary

DPD York is seeking energetic Warehouse Operatives for permanent 40-hour weeks. This fast-paced role involves loading, unloading, scanning and sorting parcels while maintaining accuracy and safety.

You’ll be on site at Northminster Business Park, working the 00:30–09:00 shift. DPD provides full training from day one, uniform and PPE, and a benefits package including pay nights, progression from within, milestone days, health support, shopping discounts and life assurance.

Job Description

• Contract Type: Permanent – 40 Hours Per Week

This is a fast-paced, physical role and you will be on your feet all shift. As a warehouse operative, you will be the backbone of our operation, playing a critical role in DPD continuing to deliver outstanding service.

Key Duties Include

• Loading and unloading, scanning, and sorting parcels with precision and accuracy
• Handling items up to 25kg (who needs a gym membership when you can keep fit whilst you work!)
• Using our technology systems to ensure every parcel gets to the right place at the right time
• Operating warehouse equipment including scanners, conveyor systems, and handling equipment safely and efficiently
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping throughout the warehouse environment
• Conducting quality control checks to verify parcel condition and accurate labelling and reporting any discrepancies, damaged items, or system issues to your supervisor promptly
• Working collaboratively with team members to meet daily targets and shift objectives
• Adhering to attendance expectations and maintaining reliability throughout your shift
