Job summary

Bakkavor Spalding is seeking Warehouse Operatives to join our chilled warehouse team. The role is full-time with night shifts, 5 days out of 7 on a rota, including weekends. Shifts run 10pm to 6am, with both day and night rotations.

You will pick and pack to target, use site software and mechanical aids, and handle items up to 20 kg. Training is provided. Free parking, PPE, and a temp-to-perm path are offered.

Qualifications

• Must have good English and Maths.
• Able to lift up to 20 kg and work in temperatures below +5C.
• Experience in warehouse roles is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

Warehouse Operatives in Spalding

Warehouse Operative for our client a global food manufacturer. The Spalding site specialises in making deli sandwich wraps, a variety of ready-to-salad products, sauces, and dips, and lastly, a producer of soups. This full-time role offers night shifts, working 5 days out of 7, including weekends on a rota. The shift is a rotating shift between days and backs. Shift times include:

• 10pm to 6am

The rate of pay is:

• Day shifts are £17.24 per hour
• Overtime £20.99 per hour

Local applicants or applicants who have their own transport would be brilliant for this role.

Your Time at Work

As a Warehouse Operative at Bakkavor Spalding, you will work against an individual target to pick and pack a number of items on each shift. You will be fully trained in how to use any software systems the site uses, along with any mechanical aids required to move stock around the warehouse.

The environment is chilled. Mechanical aids are on offer to support the movement of items around the warehouse, however, you will need to be able to pick items at pace, lift product cases of up to 20kg and be physically able to pick the number of desired items against a target set.

Our Perfect Worker

Our ideal Warehouse Operative must have good English and Maths skills. Counting in numbers and multiplying numbers is essential.

Applicants must be able to work in low-temperature areas of work, and be available to work in various temperatures (some areas is below +5C).

You must be physically fit due to the nature of the role. You will be on your feet for the duration of the shift, and some lifting is involved (5-20 kg). Previous experience is beneficial but not essential.
