Job summary

DPD is seeking a Warehouse Operative at our Hempstalls site in the UK to join a fast-paced team responsible for loading, unloading and sorting parcels.

You will be on your feet for your shift, handle items up to 25 kg, operate scanners and warehouse equipment, and maintain safety and cleanliness. Full training provided from Day 1 with uniform and PPE.

Job description

Contract Type: Permanent - 30 hours per week

Days of Work: 5 days per week

Hours of Work: 02:30-08:30

This is a fast-paced, physical role and you will be on your feet all shift. As a warehouse operative, you will be the backbone of our operation, playing a critical role in DPD continuing to deliver outstanding service.

Key Duties Include:

• Loading and unloading, scanning, and sorting parcels with precision and accuracy
• Handling items up to 25kg (who needs a gym membership when you can keep fit whilst you work!)
• Using our technology systems to ensure every parcel gets to the right place at the right time
• Operating warehouse equipment including scanners, conveyor systems, and handling equipment safely and efficiently
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping throughout the warehouse environment
• Conducting quality control checks to verify parcel condition and accurate labelling and reporting any discrepancies, damaged items, or system issues to your supervisor promptly
• Working collaboratively with team members to meet daily targets and shift objectives
• Adhering to attendance expectations and maintaining reliability throughout your shift
