Job summary

Aligra Personnel Ltd is recruiting for a Parcel Sorter role in Southampton for a busy delivery and distribution operation. You will be essential to sorting parcels, locating destinations, and ensuring efficient dispatch.

You will join a dynamic warehouse team, with full-time hours, back shift or night shifts available and a regular 5-out-of-7 schedule that may include weekends. Training and PPE provided for a safe workplace.

• Parcel sorting by destination codes to ensure timely dispatch.
• Efficient order picking and preparation for delivery.
• General warehouse duties including inventory and equipment operation.
• Loading and unloading parcels from delivery vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

• Parcel Sorting: Accurately sort parcels and boxes based on destination codes. Your precision will ensure that each parcel is ready for timely dispatch, maintaining the high standards our client is known for.
• Order Picking: Efficiently pick and prepare orders for delivery. Your attention to detail will guarantee that customers receive the correct items, enhancing their satisfaction and trust.
• General Warehouse Work: Engage in various warehouse duties, including inventory management and equipment operation. Your flexibility and adaptability will be key to supporting the team in achieving daily targets.
• Loading and Unloading: Assist in loading and unloading parcels from delivery vehicles. Your strategic placement of parcels will optimize space and ensure safe transport.
• Warehouse Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized workspace by sweeping, removing debris, and following waste disposal protocols. A tidy environment is crucial for operational efficiency and safety.
• Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Report any hazards or near-misses promptly to uphold a safe workplace for all team members.
