Job summary

Damart is seeking a Warehouse Operative to join the Logistics Team. The role involves managing stock inventory via warehouse data systems, working independently and in a team, and aiming to gain a forklift licence. Hours are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday 08:30–16:30, with holiday cover as needed.

This temporary position lasts up to 6 months, with potential extension. You will support stock accuracy, procedures, and health and safety compliance within the warehouse environment.

Job Overview:

We are hiring a Warehouse Operative who will have a key role within our Logistics Team and report to the Stock & Systems Manager. Working both individually and part of a team, the main focus of this role is to assist in the management of the stock inventory for Damart UK via the warehouse management data systems, tools and processes.

There is a need in this role to use mechanical handling equipment and work at heights, with a view to working towards gaining a forklift truck licence.

Key areas of responsibility:

• Work closely with the team to implement stock management procedures
• Maximising stock accuracy via system checks and stock reconciliation
• Foster an open approach and communication style with peers and colleagues and challenge/investigate stock inaccuracies
• Work closely with the operations stock manager on sub projects to maintain stock files without compromising customer service
• Ensure Health and Safety policy and procedures are adhered to
• Perform other duties as requested, if necessary, in other areas of the warehouse
• Flexibility to work and to learn new skills within other areas of the warehouse
