Job summary

Sammons Recruitment Ltd is hiring a Warehouse Operative in Hastings for a busy client’s warehouse team. You will help with materials handling, stock management and shipment preparation to ensure smooth goods flow.

The role focuses on safety, accuracy, and efficiency in picking, packing, loading, and inventory control, with forklift handling desirable. Training is provided in a fast-paced environment to develop practical warehouse skills.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in materials handling, stock management, or warehouse operations.
• Ideally a valid forklift certification with the ability to operate forklifts safely and confidently.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during daily tasks.
• Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail for picking, packing, stocking, and quality control activities.

Responsibilities

• Safely handle materials during loading, unloading, picking and packing.

Duties

• Safely handle materials during loading, unloading, picking, and packing activities to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment following safety protocols to move heavy or bulky items.
• Prepare orders by selecting products accurately and packing them securely for shipment.
• Stock shelves and organise storage areas to optimise space utilisation and facilitate quick access.
• Conduct quality control checks on incoming and outgoing goods to maintain high standards.
• Assist with mechanical maintenance or troubleshooting of warehouse equipment when necessary to minimise downtime.
