Job summary

Ernest Doe & Sons Ltd is seeking a motivated Warehouse Operative & Delivery Driver to join the Groundcare team at Ulting, Maldon. You will manage warehouse stock, prepare and dispatch orders, and deliver machinery to customers with hands-on assembly as needed.

Role combines warehouse duties with on-site delivery, requiring a full UK driving licence and a proactive, customer-focused approach. The position is permanent and full-time, with 39 hours per week and weekend rota as required.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Previous warehouse, stores or parts experience is desirable.
• Knowledge of groundcare, agricultural or horticultural machinery is advantageous.
• Mechanical or engineering experience is advantageous.
• Counterbalance forklift and/or telehandler licence is desirable.
• Strong customer service, communication and organisational skills.
• Good IT, numeracy and literacy skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage stock and inventory within the groundcare warehouse.
• Receive, load, unload and process deliveries.
• Pick, pack and dispatch customer, branch and online orders.
• Transfer machinery and equipment to the showroom as required.
• Collect and deliver machinery.
• Assemble and prepare machinery in line with manufacturer guidelines and demonstrate its safe operation where required.
• Maintain a clean, safe and roadworthy company vehicle.
• Deliver excellent customer service and build positive customer relationships.
• Liaise effectively with customers, suppliers and colleagues.

We are looking for a motivated and reliable Warehouse Operative & Delivery Driver to join our busy Groundcare team at our Head Office in Ulting, Maldon.

Role Purpose:

This varied role combines warehouse operations with the collection and delivery of groundcare machinery. You will help manage warehouse stock, prepare and dispatch orders, load and unload groundcare & construction deliveries, and deliver machinery to customers. You will also assemble equipment where required and provide customers with a professional handover.

Additional Information

• Start Date: Immediate, but subject to candidates notice period
• Hours: 39 hrs per week – 8am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and Friday 8am to 4pm (1-hour unpaid lunch) Saturday as per rota. Overtime paid at time and a half on completion of 39 hours Monday to Friday
• £Competitive, depending on experience
