Job summary

Brook Street Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a client for an experienced Warehouse Operative to join a busy logistics operation in Morley, Leeds.

The role offers Monday–Friday, 40 hours with rotating shifts 7am-4pm and 10am-7pm, plus some Saturdays as overtime. You will have the chance to develop your warehouse and FLT skills in a supportive team.

A valid Counterbalance FLT licence is essential; Reach Truck licence is preferred and experience in a busy logistics environment is expected.

Qualifications

• Valid Counterbalance FLT licence is essential.
• Experience with Reach Truck licence is preferred.
• Experience in busy logistics or distribution environment.
• Computer literacy including MS Office 365.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload domestic and international vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Receive deliveries, check quantities and conditions, and complete paperwork.
• Pick, pack and dispatch products according to customer requirements.
• Store stock in designated locations and maintain accurate records.
• Conduct stock checks and inventory counts as required.
• Inspect goods for damages or shortages and report issues.
• Operate Counterbalance and Reach trucks to move products.
• Coordinate with drivers and internal teams regarding deliveries and collections.
• Perform safety checks on warehouse equipment and facilities.
• Assist with site maintenance and uphold housekeeping standards.
• Follow health and safety procedures and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading domestic and international vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Receiving deliveries, checking quantities and conditions of goods, and completing all associated paperwork.
• Picking, packing, and dispatching products in line with customer requirements.
• Putting away stock into designated warehouse locations and racking.
• Carrying out stock checks and inventory counts when required.
• Maintaining accurate stock records and warehouse documentation.
• Inspecting goods for damages, discrepancies, or shortages.
• Operating FLT Counterbalance and Reach trucks to move, load, and store products.
• Liaising with drivers, subcontractors, and internal teams regarding deliveries and collections.
• Completing safety checks on warehouse equipment and facilities.
• Supporting site maintenance and ensuring excellent housekeeping standards throughout the warehouse and yard.
• Adhering to all health and safety procedures and company policies.

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous experience working within a warehouse or logistics environment.
• Good level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office 365.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Flexible and adaptable approach to work.

Essential Requirements

• Valid Counterbalance FLT Licence (Essential)
• Previous warehouse experience Reach Truck Licence (Preferred)
• First Aid qualification/certification
• Experience working within a busy logistics or distribution environment
