Job summary

Barrett Engineering Steel Midlands is seeking a Warehouse Operative at our Willenhall site. The role covers picking, stock control, and material handling within a busy warehouse environment.

You will work on a rotating shift pattern from 6:00 to 14:00, then 14:00 to 22:00, Monday to Friday, with full training provided. You will need prior warehouse experience, a good safety mindset, and a willingness to operate FLT and crane equipment after training.

Qualifications

• Warehouse experience preferred and safe working practices.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures at all times.
• Flexible attitude, work well in a team and on your own.
• Ability to operate mobile equipment (FLT, crane) after training.
• Read written instructions and record work accurately.
• Full UK driving license is required.

Responsibilities

• Pick computer generated orders with repetitive handling of heavy/large items.
• Record stock movement and usage, and identify products.
• Work efficiently as part of a team and individually.
• Transfer stock and operate saws, cranes, forklifts and side loaders after training.
• Assist production and dispatch of customer orders.
• Maintain high levels of Health & Safety at all times.
• Be adaptable to meet operational requirements.
• Carry out ad hoc duties as required.

All About the Role

Based at our Barrett Engineering Steel Willenhall Site, we are looking for a passionate and committed Warehouse Operative to be part of our skilled and dedicated work force. The working hours are on a rotating shift pattern Monday to Friday 6:00am-2:00pm, then Monday to Friday 2:00 pm to 10:00pm.

Specific tasks include:

• Pick computer generated orders with repetitive handling/lifting of heavy and large items
• Accurately record stock movement and usage, along with product identification and use of measuring equipment.
• Work efficiently and effectively as part of a team and on your own.
• Transferring stock, operate saws, overhead cranes, fork lifts, side loaders and side trackers after full training
• Assisting in the overall production and dispatch of customers’ orders.
• Maintain high levels of Health and Safety at all times
• Be adaptable and flexible in approach to work to meet operational requirements
• Any ad hoc duties as required
