We are currently recruiting for a Material Handler to join a busy manufacturing and warehouse environment. This is a hands-on role responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials across the warehouse and production areas. You will be involved in loading and unloading vehicles, wrapping pallets, collecting rejects from assembly lines, weighing and preparing scrap for recycling and transferring stock between warehouse locations.
The role will also involve receiving and despatching materials, booking stock onto the Syspro system, carrying out cycle counts and stock takes, consolidating stock and preparing tools for service. You will be required to operate pallet trucks, a wrapping machine and forklifts, as well as inspect warehouse equipment and ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures.
Previous experience within a warehouse or manufacturing environment, ideally 1-2 years, would be beneficial. You must be able to safely lift and move goods in line with HSE guidelines, follow written work instructions and carry out basic mathematical calculations. A forklift qualification or previous experience operating materials handling equipment is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided. Above all, we are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, good attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A willingness to learn new skills is also important.
