Job summary

STR Group Limited seeks a Packer / Material Handler for a busy manufacturing site in Portsmouth. You will handle materials, pack and label finished stock, and prepare customer orders for dispatch.

Working Monday to Thursday, 6:30am to 4:00pm, you will locate materials from production orders, load pallets, and move between workstations while keeping areas clean and safe. Applicants should have experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment, good time management, and the ability to follow

Job description

We are looking for a Packer / Material Handler to join a busy manufacturing environment.You will be responsible for handling materials, preparing customer orders and ensuring products are packed and ready for shipment.

Working Monday to Thursday, 6:30am - 4:00pm

Key Responsibilities

• Locate and pick materials and supplies from production orders
• Load and unload pallets and individual cartons from vehicles
• Pack and label finished stock and customer orders ready for dispatch
• Follow company procedures relating to packing, material handling, quality and safety
• Work as part of a team or independently to meet daily targets
• Move between different workstations as required
• Keep the working area clean, tidy and safe
• Carry out other duties as required

Requirements

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to read and follow information accurately
• Good time management and ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to manage multiple tasks
• Basic computer skills
• Knowledge of stock or inventory control is advantageous
• Physically able to lift and move heavy materials
• Forklift experience would be beneficial, but full training can be provided
