Prime Appointments Ltd is recruiting a Warehouse Operative in Clacton-on-Sea, Essex. The role involves forklift operation, goods in, dispatch, order picking, packing and stock control within a busy logistics environment.

Candidate must hold a valid B1 Counterbalance forklift licence and have prior warehouse or distribution experience. A full UK driving licence is essential and you will work Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm. Permanent contract with a comprehensive benefits package.

Warehouse Operative

Location: Clacton-on-Sea, Essex

Salary: £26,230 – £28,500 per annum, depending on experience

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm

Job Type: Permanent

Prime Appointments are working with a well-established manufacturing business in Clacton-on-Sea who are looking to recruit a Warehouse Operative to join their busy team on a permanent basis.

This is a varied, hands‑on role within the logistics, distribution and supply chain operation, covering forklift driving, goods in, dispatch, order picking, packing and stock control. You will play an important role in ensuring materials are moved safely, orders are prepared accurately and deliveries are processed efficiently.

The successful candidate must hold a valid B1 Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence and have previous warehouse or distribution experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck to move and position materials safely around the warehouse and yard.


• Loading and unloading commercial vehicles and assisting with shipping container deliveries.


• Picking and packing customer orders accurately, ensuring goods are securely packaged and protected.


• Preparing pallets for dispatch, checking labels and ensuring orders are ready for collection.


• Receiving deliveries, checking incoming stock and reporting discrepancies or damaged materials.


• Maintaining accurate stock records using warehouse management systems.


• Replenishing stock and organising storage areas to ensure materials are readily available.


• Supporting internal stock movements and deliveries between departments and sites.


• Carrying out regular stock checks and ensuring materials are stored safely.


• Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised warehouse and yard.


• Following health and safety procedures, including safe forklift operation, load security and site traffic management.

Requirements

• Valid B1 Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence – essential.


• Previous experience operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck in a warehouse, distribution or manufacturing environment.


• Full UK driving licence – essential.


• Previous warehouse, goods-in, dispatch or stock control experience.


• Good attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures.


• A strong understanding of warehouse health and safety.


• A reliable, proactive and flexible approach to work.


• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
