Job summary

Manpower is seeking a Material Handler in the United Kingdom to support warehouse operations at the loading bay. You will receive deliveries, unload goods and verify quantities against ASN/PO, then prepare items for storage within the warehouse management system.

The role emphasizes safety and accuracy to meet daily targets. You will also pick, pack and label orders, sort outbound shipments, and safely load vehicles.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare goods for storage and book into warehouse management system.
  • Locate and store incoming goods in designated zones.
  • Pick and assemble customer orders using RF terminals and picking lists.
  • Prepare orders for delivery by packaging and labelling cartons and pallets.
  • Sort orders into outbound routes on the dispatch bay.
  • Safely load vehicles, carriers and own fleet according to loading sequence.

Job description

Material Handler

Location: Loughborough
Shifts: Mon: 06:00 - 14:30 Tue - Fri: 06:00 - 14:00
Pay Rate: £13.20 per hour

Working with the warehouse team you will ensuring that products are received, put away, picked, packed, and shipped accurately and efficiently, following the SQD model (Safety, Quality and Delivery). You will be responsible for the smooth operation of warehouse activities, and your focus will be on safely meeting our day-to-day goals and commitments to our customers.

Summary of Duties
  • Receive deliveries and returns from suppliers and customers at the loading bay.
  • Load and unload items such as boxes, packages, cages, and pallets using manual handling equipment.
  • Check the quantity and quality of goods against the ASN (Advanced Shipping Notice) or purchase order.
  • Prepare goods for storage and book them into the warehouse management system.
  • Locate and put away incoming goods in designated warehouse storage zones.
  • Pick and assemble customer orders from various warehouse locations using radio data terminals and picking lists.
  • Prepare customer orders for delivery by packaging and labelling cartons and pallets/chemicals for safe and secure transportation.
  • Sort customer orders into designated outbound routes on the dispatch bay according to the assigned loading sequence.
  • Safely load vehicles, third-party carriers and own fleet, against the manifest loading sequence.
Minimum Requirements
  • Ability to understand written and verbal procedures and instructions in English.
  • Experience in warehouse operations such as forklift driving, picking, packing goods, or dispatch.
  • Work co-operatively with the team and assists others to achieve departmental objectives and goals.
  • Encourages a positive working environment and be flexible within the team.
  • Shares ideas, seeks help and support when required, recognises the contribution of others.
  • Operate and maintain warehouse equipment in accordance with relevant training.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work alone or within a team.

  • Gain and maintains skills through continuous development and training.
  • Health and Safety - align with health and safety guidelines and legislation.
  • Ability to operate optimally and safely within a warehouse environment.

  • Have a flexible approach to working shift patterns and support the requirement of additional hours when needed.
  • Follow standard operating procedures, training documents, and safe working practices.
  • Actively support and maintain a high standard of quality, supporting the company quality system, and operating with the customer in mind.
  • Achieve key performance indicators for the area worked in.
  • Seek opportunities to improve efficiency and performance, supporting the PPI system - projects, KAISEN, just do It's (JDI) and 5S.
