Job summary

FPS Distribution Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a warehouse operative for a fast-paced environment. Role involves receiving, unloading, picking, packing and dispatching orders, with manual handling up to 25kg and extended periods of standing and walking.

You will work 1430–2300, Monday to Friday, with potential to cover evenings or weekends. The position emphasizes accuracy, safety compliance, teamwork and communication within a busy shipping and distribution operation.

Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse or distribution environment is preferred but not essential.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in order processing.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends if required.
• Basic IT skills for data entry and scanning tasks.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, and check incoming goods for quality and quantity.
• Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch in line with procedures.
• Operate warehouse equipment safely (e.g., pallet trucks, forklifts; training provided).
• Carry out stock checks and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Ensure the warehouse is clean, tidy, and compliant with safety regulations.
• Assist with loading/unloading of delivery vehicles.
• Support team to meet daily targets and report discrepancies promptly.

Shift: 1430 - 2300 Monday to Friday

This is a fast-paced dynamic warehouse environment and involves physically demanding tasks including lifting (up to 25kg) and standing / walking for extended periods of time (up to 7.5 hours depending on shift).

The shipping lanes / outbound is a very demanding area of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, and check incoming goods for quality and quantity
• Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch in line with company procedures
• Operate warehouse equipment safely, including pallet trucks and forklifts (training provided if required)
• Carry out stock checks, cycle counts, and maintain accurate inventory records
• Ensure the warehouse is clean, tidy, and compliant with health and safety regulations
• Assist with loading and unloading of delivery vehicles efficiently
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational targets
• Report any discrepancies, damages, or safety issues promptly to management
• Follow all company policies and procedures related to warehouse operations and safety

Essential Skills And Experience

• Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution environment preferred but not essential

• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
