Job summary

Harwin in Portsmouth is seeking an experienced Warehouse Operative to ensure orders are picked, packed and processed accurately while supporting daily warehouse operations.

Key duties include using the Warehouse Management System for picking, packing to customer specs, and assisting with stock checks and inventory control. The role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working within a warehouse or similar environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable using computers and warehouse systems (ERP/WMS experience advantageous).
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence desirable.
• This is a physically active role requiring standing, walking, and moving around the warehouse throughout the working day.

Responsibilities

• Accurately pick customer orders using the Warehouse Management System.
• Pack goods in line with customer requirements and packing instructions.
• Support inventory control through stock checks and perpetual inventory activities.
• Put away stock safely and accurately as required.
• Work towards departmental targets and performance objectives.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, quality, and housekeeping.
• Support the wider warehouse team with additional duties as required.
• Contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of warehouse processes.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a DBS check, employment and reference checks, verification of employment gaps of 28 days or longer, and training/testing to work within a secure aviation area
