Job summary

Active Staff is partnering with a manufacturing company in Basingstoke to recruit a Warehouse Operative for a hands-on, detail-focused role.

The successful candidate will handle packing, kit assembly, and inventory tasks while supporting a collaborative team. No prior experience is required, with opportunities to grow into a permanent position and access good benefits.

Qualifications

• Dexterous and confident handling small parts.
• Detail-oriented, accurate and thorough.
• Numerically confident, able to count and check quantities.

Responsibilities

• Pick and prepare components and cables per works orders.
• Respond to watch buzzer calls from the production floor.
• Perform light admin tasks to support the team.
• Assemble kit: pick, count, and organize parts using bills of materials.
• Conduct quality control for accuracy, quantity and damage.
• Manage inventory: tidy workstations and keep stock updated.
• Operate basic kitting/handling equipment.
• Record production data and report issues.
• Communicate with production and stores to manage parts and shortages.
• Follow health and safety guidelines.

The role of the Warehouse Operative:

• Picking and preparing components and cables based on works orders
• Responding to watch buzzer calls from the production floor
• Light admin tasks to support the team
• Kit assembly: pick, count, and organize parts using bills of materials
• Quality control: check for accuracy, quantity, and any damage
• Inventory management: keep workstations tidy and stock updated
• Operating basic kitting/handling equipment
• Recording production data and reporting issues
• Communicating with production and stores to manage parts and shortages
• Always following health and safety guidelines
