Job summary

James Cropper is seeking a proactive Warehouse Operative to join our Advanced Materials division in Kendal. You will safely handle incoming and finished goods, manage stock, and maintain accurate records while supporting plant maintenance and sample preparation.

We value clear communication, attention to detail, and a hands-on approach to warehouse operations. A forklift licence is a plus, and the role operates on a daytime shift with weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths and English.
• Hands-on experience in warehouse operations.
• Familiarity with stock systems and stocktaking procedures.
• Confident using company computer systems and completing documentation.
• Counterbalance forklift licence is a plus.
• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Ability to spot and resolve stock system faults.
• Awareness of equipment safety and quality control for incoming materials.

Job description

We're looking for a proactive and safety-conscious Warehouse Operative to join our Advanced Materials division,a team at the forefront of innovation and precision.

What You'll Be Doing

• Safely and efficiently handle incoming and finished goods
• Manage stock across the Advanced Materials warehouse
• Communicate clearly - both verbally and in writing - with colleagues and external contacts
• Keep accurate records and documentation
• Support plant and machinery maintenance
• Pack materials and prepare sample sheets
• Maintain sample stock and assist in training new team members

This is a days shift role working 6am-6pm and one day every other weekend

What We're Looking For

• GCSEs (Grade C or above) in Maths and English
• Hands-on experience in warehouse operations
• Familiarity with stock systems and stocktaking procedures
• Confidence using company computer systems and completing documentation
• A Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence is a plus!
• Strong communication and listening skills
• Ability to spot and resolve stock system faults
• Awareness of equipment safety and quality control for incoming materials
