Job summary

Gi Group is recruiting a Warehouse Operative in Crewe for a busy distribution site. You will scan, sort, build crates and palletise parcels, supporting safe and efficient dispatch in a team environment.

Flexible shifts include inbound, Twilight and Nights with start times from 11am to midnight; rewarding weekly pay with progression after 12 weeks. Full-time, part-time and ad hoc options available.

Warehouse Operative

Location - Crewe CW1

Join our growing team as a Warehouse Operative in Crewe. If you are reliable, hard-working, and enjoy variety in your work, we want to hear from you.

Pay Rates

• Standard: £12.71 per hour (rising to £12.79 after 12 weeks)
• Nights: £13.00 per hour (rising to £13.70 after 12 weeks)

Role Overview

• Accurately scan and sort parcels according to destination ( ~min 2000 parcels per shift)
• Build crates, palletise parcels, and ensure items are securely prepared for dispatch
• Support the safe, efficient operation of the warehouse as part of a collaborative team
• Utilise strong attention to detail and follow written instructions to achieve high standards
• Flexible shift patterns available, with variable start and finish times dependent on workload and parcel volumes

Key Requirements

• Able to communicate confidently in both spoken and written English
• Capable of understanding and following scanning, labelling, and sorting instructions
• Physically fit to handle manual tasks in a fast-paced environment and be able to lift up to 15 kg, when unloading trailers.
• Commitment to working Sundays and occasional Saturday's , with flexibility across all 7 days
• Reliable and punctual, with a positive approach to teamwork

Shift Patterns

• Inbound: Start times between 11am - 2pm
• Twilight: Start times between 2pm - 5pm
• Nights: Start times between 8pm - midnight
• Shifts typically last 5-9 hours; longer hours may be required during peak periods.
• Due to the nature of the operation, start and finish times cannot be guaranteed in advance and will vary according to workload, so a flexible approach to working hours is required.
