Job summary

Havebury Homes is seeking a Hub Operative on a permanent basis to support our logistics and warehouse operations in the east of England. You will coordinate with staff and suppliers, manage stock, and ensure technicians have the materials and PPE they need to complete maintenance and repairs.

The role requires teamwork, the ability to work under pressure, and a proactive approach. We offer a structured 37-hour week, annual leave, pension and benefits as part of our customer‑centric housing

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with staff and suppliers to ensure prompt delivery and correct products on first request.
• Ensure materials, plant and waste services are provided promptly and efficiently.
• Develop van stock profiles to reduce the need for special orders.
• Answer queries from field operatives and schedulers regarding orders and stock.
• Track and update orders, highlight delays and escalate issues when needed.
• Receive and inspect deliveries, report discrepancies or damage.
• Maintain a clean, safe warehouse and organise stores for easy access.
• Carry out stock checks, audits and issue control for PPE and uniforms.

We are looking for a Hub Operative to join us on a permanent basis.

We own and manage c.8,000 homes in the east of England, working closely with other agencies and stakeholders within our communities. We build on the good foundations we have in place in being a customer‑centric organisation, investing in our existing homes - including our zero‑carbon journey - as well as building new homes.

Role Purpose

Toprovidea wide range of operational support to all teams who rely on thelogisticsfunction. This role will involve managing inventory, tracking supplies, and supporting the efficient operation of maintenance and repair activities. Ensuring that all our technicians have everything they need to get their job done.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate withHaveburystaff and suppliers to ensure clear communication, prompt delivery, and the provision of the right products and services first time.
• Tohelpensure materials, plant and waste services are provided promptly and efficiently.
• To help develop van stock profiles to reduce the need topurchasespecial order materials.
• To answerqueriesfrom field operativesand Schedulerspertaining toorders and advise on vans stock issues.
• Track and update orders with pending materials, ensuringtimelyfollow-upand highlighting any delays, exceptions, or escalated issues to theOperations Hub Supervisor and Schedulers.
• Receive and check incoming deliveries, promptlyidentifyingand reporting any discrepancies, shortages, or damaged items to theappropriate parties
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well‑organised warehouseand yardenvironment, ensuring materials are stored correctly and easily accessible.
• Maintain effective working relationships with technicians, ensuring they havetimelyaccess to the materials, tools, PPE, and workwearrequiredto carry out their roles safely and efficiently.
• PAT testing equipment routinely, keeping adequate inspection records.
• Carry out routine audits on materials, van stocks, plant equipment, uniform, PPE, power tools, ladders, fire extinguishers.
• Assistin carrying out weekly, monthly, and annual stock control activities, ensuring inventory records areaccurateand up to date.
• Assistwith issuing and control of uniform and PPE.
• Carry out monthly, weekly, facilities safety and fire checks, updating records in central system.

Previousexperience ofworking as part of a team.

Salary and Benefits

• An annual salary of £27,604.50
• 8-4 Monday - Friday, 37 hour week
• Annual Leave - 28 days per year, (plus bank holidays) increasing to 32 days when you reach your 3rd year with us. To give greater flexibility around your holidays you can also buy, sell or carry over up to 5 days of annual leave each year
