Job summary

This Warehouse FLT Operator role at Manpower UK sits at a highly automated site in Barnwood, Gloucestershire. Starting January 2027, you will cover warehouse and production areas, handling counterbalance truck duties and inventory control to support targets.

Various shifts including some weekend cover, with pay from £14.11 to £33.60 per hour, plus pension, holidays, free parking and a staff shop. Potential progression to £36.95 per hour based on performance.

Job description

This Warehouse FLT Operator role with Manpower UK sits within a leading food manufacturer’s highly automated, hygienic site in Barnwood, Gloucestershire, starting January 2027 ahead of the busy season. Working across warehouse and production areas, the successful candidate will handle counterbalance truck duties, move stock safely and support shift targets. Various shift patterns are available, ideally including some weekend cover, with pay from £14.11 to £33.60 per hour depending on shift, plus pension, holidays, free parking and a staff shop. This temporary, ongoing contract rewards reliability, forklift competence and flexibility, with progression to £36.95 per hour possible through performance, training and role development.

SHIFTS:

Various shifts available including on a shift pattern but preferably you will be able to work all or some weekends. The contract is on-going with strong temp to perm opportunities.

ASSESSMENTS BEING CONDUCTED AND OFFERS BEING MADE NOW THROUGHOUT NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER 2026.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Use appropriate material handling equipment to move product and materials from and to designated locations to support bulk activities in an efficient and safe manner.
• Build pallets and orders as directed to support successful order fulfilment.
• Safe handling and storage of materials.
• Stock process - handles delivery and sorting.
• Work accurately to control warehouse inventory at acceptable levels.
• Analyse material movements to locate parts, serial number, and quantity change.
• Generate movement documentation.
• Perform inventory count, stock material in the appropriate locations.
• Efficiently load/unload trucks and transports with a forklift.
• Assist the daily housekeeping and maintenance of the warehouse and logistics area.
• Adheres to all policies and procedures relating to product age and quality.
• Conduct inspection of logistic equipment including FLTs, pallet inverters, racking, etc.

What You Will Bring:

• Fork lift truck license and material handling qualification.
• Can maintain focus and discipline for the task whilst demonstrating good problem solving skills to protect targets.
• IT Skills - Competent in the use of logistics data and control systems that record Material Movement, Losses and Quality.
• Must also be competent in the use of Microsoft Office; Excel and Word programmes.
• Experience as a Logistics Operations Worker. (desirable)
• Experience of manufacturing in a Fast Moving Consumer Goods Company. (desirable)
