Job summary

Westray Recruitment Group is recruiting experienced FLT Operatives for a leading food manufacturing company in the UK. The role offers a continental shift pattern (2 days, 2 nights, 4 days off) with 12-hour shifts and a pay rate of £15.38 per hour, including weekends.

You will safely operate forklift trucks, support production lines and help maintain a clean, safe warehouse environment on a rolling eight-day rotation. Ongoing temporary employment with progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• A valid, in-date FLT licence, preferably Counterbalance.
• Experience operating forklift trucks within a warehouse, manufacturing or production environment.
• Ability to work a continental shift pattern, including days, nights and weekends.
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety procedures.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking approach.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklift trucks to move raw materials, stock and finished products around the site.
• Loading and unloading deliveries in a safe and efficient manner.
• Supplying production lines with materials to ensure manufacturing operations run smoothly.
• Moving finished products into designated storage and dispatch areas.
• Ensuring stock is stored correctly and in accordance with site procedures.
• Completing relevant paperwork and stock movement documentation accurately.
• Carrying out daily forklift safety checks and reporting any defects.
• Supporting general warehouse and production duties when required.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
• Following all health and safety, food hygiene and site operating procedures.
• Working closely with warehouse and production colleagues to meet operational requirements.

SHIFT PATTERN

Successful candidates will work a continental shift pattern of 2 days, 2 nights, followed by 4 days off, on a rolling eight-day rotation.

Day shifts: 7:00am to 7:00pm

Night shifts: 7:00pm to 7:00am

Rotation: 2 day shifts, 2 night shifts, 4 days off

Pay rate: £15.38 per hour

Candidates must be comfortable working both day and night shifts, including weekends, as part of the continental rotation.

THE ROLE

As an FLT Operative, you will play an important role in supporting the smooth running of the manufacturing and warehouse operation.

Your responsibilities will include:

THE PERSON

To be considered for this position, you will ideally have:

• - A valid, in-date FLT licence, preferably Counterbalance
• - Previous experience operating forklift trucks within a warehouse, manufacturing or production environment
• - Confidence working in a busy, fast-paced industrial setting
• - The ability to work a continental shift pattern, including days, nights and weekends
• - A strong understanding of workplace health and safety procedures
• - Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
• - A reliable, punctual and hardworking approach
• - Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions
• - A flexible attitude and willingness to assist with additional warehouse duties when required

Previous experience within food manufacturing or an FMCG environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
