Job Responsibilities
  • Interact with customers by phone, email, or in person and receive orders or changes in service.
  • Address complaints concerning billing or service issues, referring service failures to designated departments for investigation.
  • Process and input all customer orders and receipts. Check stock reports for product availability.
  • Generate necessary paperwork for customer work orders, check for special requests, and update inventory records.
  • Coordinate special shipping requests with transportation, expedite orders as needed.
  • Trace orders and inform customers of their status, including shipping and tracking details.
  • Verify invoices to ensure proper billing.
  • Maintain good customer relationships by responding courteously and efficiently to inquiries and complaints.
  • Report customer feedback to management, including signs of dissatisfaction.
  • Act as liaison between warehouse and customer regarding accounts, invoicing, and credit changes.
  • Handle paperwork related to orders and maintain customer files.
  • Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, operating office equipment, and greeting visitors.
  • Maintain current procedure documentation and prepare reports on customer service activities.
  • Notify management of customer requests regarding shipping or administrative changes.
  • Collaborate with management on product routing for customers.
  • Report food safety issues to senior management for food accounts.
Minimum Requirements
  • At least 6 months of related experience and/or training.
  • Experience with AS400 systems and warehouse management systems preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
  • Effective presentation skills for groups of managers, customers, and co-workers.
  • Problem-solving skills to deal with practical and variable situations.
  • Ability to interpret instructions in various formats.
