Job summary

IKEA Gruppe is hiring for warehouse roles based at our external facility in Follingsby Park, Washington, with occasional shifts at IKEA Gateshead. The role involves picking, packing, stock checks, and serving customers for online and in-store orders.

We offer a competitive hourly rate of £13.45, 24 hours per week across 5 days over 7 including weekends, and flexibility to discuss personal needs during interview.

Qualifications

• You are comfortable using computers and handheld devices to support with the checking of stock and to answer customer questions.
• You proactively look for tasks to be done and use your initiative to complete them in an efficient and effective manner.
• You are able to work independently and as part of a large team, separated across two sites.
• You have an adaptable mindset allowing you to switch between different tasks/areas and work within tight time frames.
• You work with guidance from your manager to achieve set goals in agreed timeframes using standard ways of working.

Responsibilities

• You will be picking and preparing large volumes of orders for both online & in store collection or delivery with various cut off times to be adhered to, including handing them to the customer.
• Your daily duties will be receiving stock, picking, checking order accuracy, and preparing orders for delivery.
• You will also be required to meet the customer in the store during picking.
• You will work alongside our external delivery company for a smooth flow of customer orders and returns.
• You will work with our internal systems to ensure that customers have accurate and full stock availability at all times.
• Ensure products are always available by accurately and promptly completing tasks in your assigned area of the warehouse.
• Maintain warehouse standards, condense cardboard, remove plastics and order stock for the next day.
• Commit to all IKEA health, safety and security rules and requirements within your area and actively help colleagues to prevent any incidents involving co-workers, customers, equipment, building and IKEA products.
• Contribute to optimised daily fulfilment operations by working in a lean, simple, and cost-conscious way, applying, and sharing good examples.
• Manual handling using safety protocols and working with the use of pump trucks.
• You will be responsible for accurate return processes, ensuring all customer returns are dealt with quickly to ensure customers receive their refund in a timely manner.
