Job summary

IKEA Edinburgh is seeking multiskilled Warehouse Assistants to join our collaborative fulfilment team. You’ll pick products across our fulfilment function, prepare orders for collection or delivery, and use digital tools daily. The role requires evening and weekend availability and supports two-site operations.

The interview is on 12 November, with a start date of 5 December 2026. Various contracts 16–39 hours are available, offering a competitive hourly rate and flexibility.

Qualifications

• You are comfortable using computers and handheld devices to check stock and answer customer questions.
• You proactively look for tasks and use initiative to complete them efficiently.

Responsibilities

• You will pick and prepare large volumes of orders for online and in-store collection or delivery with cut-off times.
• You will receive stock, pick, check order accuracy, and prepare orders for delivery.
• You will meet customers in-store during picking and work with external delivery partners.
• You will use internal systems to ensure accurate stock availability at all times.
• You will maintain warehouse standards and prepare stock for the next day.
• You will follow IKEA health, safety, and security rules and help colleagues prevent incidents.
• You will contribute to lean, cost-conscious daily fulfilment operations.
• You will perform manual handling using safety protocols and pump trucks.
• You will manage returns to ensure timely refunds for customers.

IKEA Edinburgh are looking to welcome multiskilled Warehouse Assistants to join our collaborative fulfilment team.

Enjoy variety? As a multiskilled Warehouse Assistant you’ll work across our fulfilment function, picking products from wardrobes to candles, preparing orders ready to be collected by customers or sent out for delivery. You’ll be comfortable using digital tools as part of your day-to-day and ready to support the team wherever needed. No two days are the same and that is part of the fun.

The interview for this role will take place on the 12th November.

• Start Date of employment will be: 5th December 2026
• Hourly rate of £13.45 per hour.
• Various contract sizes are available between 16-39 hours, you will be asked your preference during application. All contracts require evening and weekend availability.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE

• You are comfortable using computers and handheld devices to support with the checking of stock and to answer customer questions.
• You proactively look for tasks to be done and use your initiative to complete them in an efficient and effective manner.

You are able to work independently and as part of a large team, seperated across two sites

• You have an adaptable mindset allowing you to switch between different tasks/areas and work within tight time frames.
• You work with guidance from your manager to achieve set goals in agreed timeframes using standard ways of working.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

• You will be picking and preparing large volumes of orders for both online & in store collection or delivery with various cut off times to be adhered to, including handing them to the customer.
• Your daily duties will be receiving stock, picking, checking order accuracy, and preparing orders for delivery.
• You will also be required to meet the customer in the store during picking.
• You will work alongside our external delivery company for a smooth flow of customer orders and returns
• You will work with our internal systems to ensure that customers have accurate and full stock availability at all times.
• Ensure products are always available by accurately and promptly completing tasks in your assigned area of the warehouse.
• Maintain warehouse standards, condense cardboard, remove plastics and order stock for the next day
• Commit to all IKEA health, safety and security rules and requirements within your area and actively help colleagues to prevent any incidents involving co-workers, customers, equipment, building and IKEA products.
• Contribute to optimised daily fulfilment operations by working in a lean, simple, and cost-conscious way, applying, and sharing good examples.
• Manual handling using safety protocols and working with the use of pump trucks.
• You will be responsible for accurate return processes, ensuring all customer returns are dealt with quickly to ensure customers receive their refund in a timely manner.
