Job summary

IKEA Oxford Street is hiring a Store Assistant to join our team. You’ll focus on customer service and selling, ensuring shelves are full, tidy and inviting for every shopper who walks through our doors.

The role covers across departments, helping customers find the right solutions for their life at home while maintaining product presentation and stock levels. Start date is 4 December 2026 with flexible hours and attractive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Provide an inspirational shopping experience across departments, helping customers find solutions for their home.
• Learn and share product stories to engage customers.
• Keep areas clean, fully stocked, properly priced and well presented; some products may require heavy lifting.
• Work with ladders and at height, following safety procedures to replenish stock and maintain shopfloor standards.

Bring your commitment to great customer service to IKEA as a Store Assistant, where you’ll focus on customer service and selling, keeping our most-loved products available and ensuring shelves are always full, tidy, and ready to inspire every shopper who walks through our doors.

WHAT WE OFFER

The start date of employment will be 4th December 2026. Competitive hourly rate of £14.80 per hour. The available contracted hours are as follows:

• 39 hours per week, working up to 5 days per week, including day shift, evenings and alternate weekends per month.
• 30 hours per week, working up to 5 days per week, including day shift, evenings and three in four weekends.

• You are computer literate and able to work with technology.
• You prioritise and organise your own work to make efficient use of the time available with great attention to detail.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

• You provide an inspirational shopping experience for our customers working across various departments throughout the day, supporting customers to find the right solutions for their life at home.
• You are interested in the range, curious to learn the stories behind the products and their design, keen to share this with our customers.
• You support sales by ensuring your areas of responsibility are clean, fully stocked, all products priced, well presented and easy to shop. Some products may involve heavy lifting.
• You’ll work with ladders and at height, following safety procedures to ensure efficient replenishment and maintaining high standards across the shopfloor.
