Job summary

IKEA Cardiff is seeking Warehouse Assistants to join our friendly team. The role involves picking and preparing orders for online and in-store collection or delivery, stock receiving, and assisting customers in-store while maintaining accurate stock levels.

Shifts run 06:00–20:30, with flexibility discussed at interview. Start date 29th November 2026. Benefits include IKEA discount, annual leave, life assurance, pension contributions, and travel/parking support.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Pick and prepare large volumes of orders for online and in-store collection or delivery.
• Receive stock, check order accuracy and prepare orders for delivery.
• Meet customers in-store during picking and ensure stock availability.
• Use internal systems to maintain accurate stock information at all times.
• Ensure products are available by completing assigned tasks promptly in the warehouse.
• Follow IKEA health, safety, and security rules and help prevent incidents.

• Competitive hourly rate of £13.45 per hour.
• 20 hours working 4 days per week including 3 out of 4 weekends.
• 16 hours working 4 days per week including 3 out of 4 weekends.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE

• You are comfortable using computers and handheld devices to support with the checking of stock and to answer customer questions.
• You consistently look for tasks to be done and use your initiative to complete them in an efficient and effective manner.
• You have an adaptable mindset allowing you to switch between different tasks/areas and work within tight time frames.
• You work with guidance from your manager to accomplish set goals in agreed timeframes using standard ways of working.
• Compliance with health and safety guidelines necessitates that applicants are 18 years of age or older.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

• You will be picking and preparing large volumes of orders for both online & in store collection or delivery, including handing them to the customer.
• Your daily duties will be receiving stock, picking, checking order accuracy, and preparing orders for delivery.
• You will also be required to meet the customer in the store during picking.
• You will work with our internal systems to ensure that customers have accurate and full stock availability at all times.
• Ensure products are always available by accurately and promptly completing tasks in your assigned area of the warehouse.
• Commit to all IKEA health, safety and security rules and requirements within your area and actively help colleagues to prevent any incidents involving co-workers, customers, equipment, building and IKEA products.
• Contribute to optimized daily fulfilment operations by working in a lean, simple, and cost-conscious way, applying, and sharing good examples.
• Manual handling using safety protocols and working with the use of pump trucks.
