Job summary

The Lancaster Hospital, part of Circle Health Group, is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Wards team in Lancaster. This is a full-time, 37.5-hour per week role with a flexible shift pattern, requiring availability for days, nights and weekends.

You will deliver direct nursing care, assess needs, maintain documentation, and communicate effectively with patients and families. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, safe care and uphold governance and patient

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Adult) with valid NMC registration.
• Demonstrable experience working in a clinical healthcare setting.
• Good understanding of clinical governance, patient safety, and evidence-based practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficient in IT systems used for patient records, documentation, and care planning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care in line with patient care plans and clinical protocols.
• Assess patient needs, prioritise care, and update care plans accordingly.
• Maintain accurate, legible, and timely nursing documentation, including assessments, care plans, and observations.
• Communicate effectively and empathetically with patients, families, and carers, providing information, reassurance, and emotional support.
• Support patients in understanding their condition, treatments, and recovery processes.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide high-quality, safe, and efficient care.
• Identify and report incidents, safeguarding concerns, and potential risks in line with hospital procedures.
