Job summary

East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated Senior Clinical Pharmacy Assistant to support safe and high-quality pharmacy services across wards and clinical areas. You will help ensure timely medicine supply, maintain stock integrity and assist clinical teams to meet patients' medication needs, collaborating with pharmacists, technicians and procurement colleagues.

Qualifications

• Must have NVQ2 level in Pharmacy Services or equivalent.
• GCSEs at grade C or above in English, Mathematics and Science or equivalent.
• Previous pharmacy experience is essential.
• Demonstrable use of Microsoft Office applications: Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Demonstrable attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
• Flexible team player able to work as part of a busy service.
• Ability to work without supervision and under pressure.
• Demonstrates Trust Values.

Responsibilities

• Support ward-based top-up services and monitor medicine stocks and expiry dates.
• Assist with supply, dispensing and transfer of medicines, and assess patients' own drugs.
• Raise supply issues to the appropriate team and provide medication information to patients and clinicians.
• Support audits, collect performance data and maintain accurate records.
• Train new staff within your scope and contribute to service meetings and rota-based duties.

Education

NVQ2 level in Pharmacy Services or equivalent

GCSEs grade C or above or equivalent in English, Mathematics and Science
