Job summary

Cygnet Bury Hudson is seeking a professional Ward Manager to lead and oversee care delivery in a secure mental health setting for men. The role is full-time (40 hours, Mon-Fri 8am–4:30pm) at the Bury site, with opportunities to drive improvement across nursing practice and patient safety.

DBS checks are required and NHS discounts apply. The successful candidate will provide leadership to the ward team, ensure confidentiality and policy adherence, and actively contribute to the development of

Qualifications

• Experience in an inpatient setting.
• Experience leading change and developing others.
• Familiarity with the Mental Health Act and current nursing practices.
• Commitment to patient recovery and safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide recommendations to Hospital Manager for ward development.
• Participate in planned ward visits by professional visitors.
• Initiate and maintain a monitoring system for nursing practice at unit level.
• Ensure service delivery is patient/family centred.
• Advise non-clinical staff on management of patients with mental illness.
• Ensure confidentiality and adherence to company policies.
• Lead audits and follow up action plans to completion.
• Monitor risk and ensure compliance with Mental Health Act.
